CC The Organization and Unconventional Features of Writing Essay

I’m working on a writing question and need guidance to help me learn.

Address one or more of the following questions in providing feedback:

  • Where does the writer analyze the narrative or argument text? Do they explain important aspects of the narrative or argument (main source) through precise, original interpretation or do they focus on obvious, surface-level interpretation?
  • How well-chosen is the textual evidence? Has the writer effectively framed (contextualized) and integrated evidence from the main source and all research sources? Are the sources “in conversation”? If not, how and where could the writer improve this?
  • Is the essay well-organized in terms of overall structure (intro, middle, conclusion) and paragraph/ topic order? What makes it well-organized? If organization needs improvement, what can the writer do?
  • Are there unconventional features of the writing (sentence structure, grammar, layout, etc.) that you find disrupted your reading of the essay? If so, what are one to three key features or recurring issues that the writer can focus on in revision?
  • What did you like best about the essay?
  • What did you learn about your own writing from reading this draft?
