Gucci Live Service
To deal with the pandemic, Gucci in July 2020 launched a virtual shopping service which allows customers to communicate with the staff in the shop through a video call.
The designated shop for this “remote clienting” is a store in Florence: “Gucci 9”, a 2,300-square-metre fake store designer for customers to shop remotely. The store has TV- style lighting and high-quality cameras for a seamless shopping experience.
To protect the privacy of all potential clients and ensure their comfort, the brand has also noted that despite the feature being a video call, customers are only heard by staff and not seen.
The staff present the products to potential customers wearing black-tux bow-tie and red-gloves-clad.
Although the brand only has a Gucci 9’s Florence location, the brand plans to open more locations in New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney and Shangai.
As CEO of the brand, Marco Bizzarri, said “The service is delivered according to the values that define and differentiate our brand today: a human touch powered by technology.”
Gucci Virtual Show
During Milan’s digital fashion week, Gucci presented a resort 2021 collection titled “Epilogue”, a final chapter of Michele’s “trilogy of love” where he is trying to change traditional fashion rules.
Creative Director Alessandro Michele invited viewers to witness everything that goes into producing a fashion shoot – from security, lighting, cameras, makeup, models – in a 12-hour livestream broadcasted from Palazzo Sacchetti in Rome.
Epilogue show became the brand’s most viewed, reaching more than 35.2 million views around the world.Gucci App
Limited-edition sneakers is one thing, but designing a pair that no one else in the world can cop? Even more exciting.
Gucci has integrated in their well-known app a new feature, called Gucci Sneaker Garage.
You can pretend you’re in a “garage studio”, a storages space favored by most sneakerheads for their collections, as you’re trying out the feature, which lets you tweak any of Gucci’s signature sneaker styles such as the Ace, Screener and Rhyton. You’ll have the option of designing the uppers and soles, as well as choosing their colours — all to create a virtual pair of shoes to call your own.
These sneakers are especially made digitally, which means that customers can’t wear them in real life. The sneakers can be bought to let your avatars wear them on online games like Roblox and VRChat.
You can also add them to your digital sneaker collection on the Aglet App – a sneaker app
