Select one “Practice Case Involving the Model of Ethical Decision Making” from the following pages of Ethical Reasoning for Mental Health Professionals: pages 127–128 (Ch. 6), page 170 (Ch. 8), page 219 (Ch. 11), or pages 249–250 (Ch. 12).
Select one of the models of ethical decision making presented in this course. Apply each of the steps of that ethical decision-making model, and evaluate the value of this process in addressing the ethical dilemma in the practice case.
Apply relevant professional ethical codes, principles, and standards, and evaluate the strengths and limitations of the codes, principles, or standards.
Apply two or more comprehensive models of ethical reasoning (such as utilitarianism, Kant’s formalist theory, ethical relativism, or Wallace’s ethical contextualism) to think through this case, and evaluate the strengths and limitations of the models.
