Three cases briefed following the template and examples discussed early in the semester. Madison Square Garden (pp. 429-430); Goldkrist (pp. 450-452; and Marlow (pp. 477-479). Briefing a case is a way of presenting a legal principle that has been applied to the facts of the case.Coopers & Lybrand v. Fox and Vokes v. Arthur Murray are models that you can follow. Both are posted on Canvas.Remember that the parties should only be named in the Facts and in the second paragraph of the Reasons where the general principle of law set forth in the first paragraph of the Reasons (macro) is applied to the specific facts of the case (micro).Do not name the parties in the Issue which should summarize a general principle of law and is presented in the form of a question!I have posted the three cases assigned for each student. If I have made an error, and a student has not been assigned three cases, please let me know, and I will assign one.I will grade the work not only for content but also for composition. Think carefully about how you write. Review what you have written! Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are critical to achieving a successful career!
