I think your project still has potential, but at this point there are still some critical errors present. Part of that comes from not being able to participate in some of the milestones in time to receive critical feedback. I’ve left feedback for you in the rubric. HIS-460-01: Demonstrate knowledge of the development of human societies by analyzing and interpreting a variety of sources that provide evidence to support an argument about the past: While I’m still unclear about how your thesis is a unique contribution to the literature, you did develop a clear thesis and you carried it throughout your paper, using a variety of sources in support of it.
HIS-460-02: Utilize critical thinking skills for formulating effective analysis of appropriate primary and secondary sources: While I think that your analysis could be stronger, you made clear use of both primary and secondary sources in a way that clearly supported your thesis.
HIS-460-03: Develop historical perspectives and arguments and express those arguments in effective and applicable formats: The paper was really hard to follow and I think the organization needs a lot of work. The writing was a bit jarring, although I know that you were running out of time toward the end given your situation. The footnotes and bibliography could also use some additional formatting correction.
HIS-460-04: Practice civic engagement through the application of history in the public realm: While your presentation was missing a couple of components (Overview of the importance of history for society; Potential for future research with applications to the public realm; importance of project to field of history) I thought you did a good job explaining your project, its importance to the public, and it was audience appropriate.
HIS-460-05: Analyze multiple historical and theoretical viewpoints effectively through an open-minded, empathetic perspective on the past: There’s no historiography and therefore it’s difficult to see how you’re analyzing multiple historical and theoretical view points.”
