Need help with my Asian Studies question – I’m studying for my class.
Choose one film or documentary (feature film length, not a youtube clip) you viewed in this class (e.g., “A Storm at Valley State,” “Grace Lee Project,” “Good Americans,” “Who Killed Vincent Chin?,” “Clash of Colors,” “Slaying the Dragon,” “None of the Above”) and critically review it. Summarize the intellectual value of the film, feelings you experienced, or points made in various parts of the film. Connect the points in the film to the readings in the course and write about them in an extended reflection. The good review is one that shows you are exercising your own critical thinking and/or formulating a thoughtful, well-argued opinion. The worst review is one that simply summarizes or repeats what has already been stated. Some questions you may want to ask yourself and consider including in your review are: Why do you choose these particular stories to review? What enraged you, amused you, or surprised you?; How is this film relevant to the topic you have learned in this course?; How does this film reflect experience of Asian Americans?; How might this film apply to your own life as an (Asian) American? 3-4 typewritten, 12pt, double spaced page.
