Business Law Employment Standards Act Paper

You are required to view the B.C. Employment Standards Act (“ESA”) and to write a report on one of the following topics:

• Have you or someone you know experienced working for an employer who may have violated the ESA in some way? If so, explain what section(s) of the Act apply and why the employer may have been in violation of the legislation
• Do you currently operate a business and have some experience of ESA issues? If so, explain the nature of this experience and identify the relevant section(s) of the ESA
• If you have no experience to write about, read through the ESA and pick a section to discuss (perhaps it surprises you, or you think it to be particularly unfair – explain your reasons and consider seeing if another province or another country has equivalent laws)
