Develop a brief visual presentation to a group of business employees designed to:
- boost morale and stimulate creativity, and…
- deliver a set of instructions for a business project/job you want them to start right away and approach enthusiastically and energetically.
How to go about it:
- First, read Chapter 12 “Writing Instructions and Procedures.”
- Decide what company/organization is the context (it may be fictional or real, perhaps your dream company to own or work for–or a school or non profit–anything you like).
- Decide the cohort of employees (team) that you are addressing and the kind of style that will appeal to them.
- Decide the project you want them to accomplish.
- Let them know their own target audience and overall purpose.
- Make sure your set of instructions includes both language (writing) and visuals. Our text has examples of both.
- You may use PowerPoint for this presentation or Vimeo or other software you like and have access to.
- Be creative and upbeat in your presentation because your intention is to get your instructions across in an engaging (perhaps even playful) way in order to inspire and motivate.
- Chapter 12 gives great examples and advice; use it as a guide.
