Request: I select the topic of the importance of delegating tasks and involving others as a core coaching strategy.
One of the key areas I’ve observed when working with new managers/ leaders is that they tend to not delegate tasks that fall within their core competency.Because typically they have been promoted as a result of their ability in specific areas, they tend take on tasks themselves and not trust their subordinates. As a result, they are not as efficient as a team as they could be.Effective delegation, which is an important part of leadership judgement, empowers and develops staff, increases motivation, job satisfaction and loyalty, and ultimately saves the leader time.
