  • (b) On June 5, 2021, the G7 leaders agreed to global tax reform measures targeting large multinational companies. The tax reform aims to: (i) tax multinationals in the countries where they operate; and (ii) subject multinationals to a global minimum tax rate of at least 15%. What do you think is the rationale for these reforms? Why do you think the G7 leaders are concerned about the multinationals.

    (c) In June 2021, the Greek authorities adopted a policy of paying its young people (18-25-year-old) a 150 Euro cash card and a free month of phone data to get their first COVID-19 shot. Are the Greek authorities just being nice to their youth or is there more to it? Who benefits when the Greek youth get vaccinated?
