Brave New World & the Handmaid Tale Book Analysis & Comparison Discussion

Directions:

1. Compare the two works: “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley and “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood. 
2. Examine each work thoroughly. Compare and contrast the following themes:
3. What are the most important political ideas or themes presented in each book?
4. Identify & discuss, if any, the political perspectives of the main characters at the onset of the story?
5. Identify & discuss any incidents that challenge or provoke the perspectives of the characters?
6. How do these incidents influence the outcome of the story?
7. What new insights did you, as reader & student, gain from reading these works?
