For your assignment this week, you will complete the second step of developing ideas and content for your final project. Continue with your topic choice from Week 2 and, as a reminder, the topics are:

This week, you will gather at least four additional scholarly sources that relate to the behavioral, cognitive, or emotional aspects of your topic. Please note that the topic you selected will determine what questions you will address in this week’s paper, and you must continue with the same topic for the final presentation.

In your paper,

  • Option A: If you have selected a brain-based disorder,
    • Describe the disorder’s key symptoms and how those symptoms may be caused by the specific brain regions or networks you have identified.
  • Option B: If you have selected a brain process for a particular behavior,
    • Discuss how information flows through the brain networks related to your behavior, cognitive function, or emotion of interest.
    • Continue explaining the roles of each brain region identified in this process, and you may add a few new brain regions beyond what you mentioned in Week 2 to further identify how the nervous system creates the process of interest.
  • Consider your goals and audience when deciding how many brain regions to describe. If you or your audience wants detailed information about the brain, you may mention many regions. If you or they do not need as much neuroanatomical detail, you may stay with three or a few more regions.
