I need help between Friday, 4/23 and Sunday, 4/25 at 11:59pm. The time limit is 90 minutes. I need a sample around 500words in 60 minutes. thank you

As you develop your essay, make sure you provide sufficient support and explanation for your thesis by integrating examples from both readings (“Drug Policy as Social Control” (2003) by Noam Chomsky and “Turn Prisons Into Colleges” (2018) by Elizabeth Hinton). Again, YOU MUST MENTION BOTH TEXTS.

  • Your thesis is your answer to the question asked. Your thesis must be a statement that can be argued/debated.
  • DO NOT overly summarize the readings.
  • DO NOT overly quote or paraphrase.
  • Analyze your examples to show their relevance to your argument.
  • Use your own observations, experiences, and other sources to develop your claims. When you cite directly from the readings, use proper MLA page citation.
  • The beginning…An introductory paragraph:
    • The hook (1-2 sentences): Begin your essay by introducing your topic in an interesting way.
    • Topic development (1-2 sentences): Bridge the gap from the hook to the development of your topic where you offer some relevant background on the specific purpose of the essay. This section helps the reader see why you are focusing on this topic and makes the transition to the main point.
    • Transition: Bridge the gap between your topic and your thesis.
    • Thesis: Present your overall point, the main idea on the topic. A mapped thesis presents not only your thesis but your points of support.

The middle…The body of your essay should develop 2-3 points of support for your thesis statement. This is where you use your readings, facts, stats, historical/social references, and personal experiences to develop an answer to the question. Thus there should be three paragraphs and they should generally follow this pattern: Paragraph: (Repeat this pattern of sentences for as long as necessary to adequately develop the statement made in your topic sentence.)

    • Topic sentence.
    • Supporting evidence (i.e. fact, stat, textual evidence, societal or historical reference, personal experience).
    • Explanation.
    • Repeat.
    • Supporting statement.
    • Supporting evidence (i.e. fact, stat, textual evidence, societal or historical reference, personal experience).
    • Explanation.
    • Transition (to next paragraph, or, if it is the final paragraph, to the conclusion).

Repeat this pattern for as long as necessary to support your thesis and/or meet the length requirement of the essay. The end…The conclusion summarizes your essay. As you learned throughout the semester, a summary is in your own words and reiterates the larger points of the essay including the main point, the thesis. Do this using different words/language. Be sure not to present any new information.
