Instructions:
Project – “Excel program to solve required sterilization time based (on equation 10.19b”)
Use this to solve problem 10.10 for the two sterilization times (there are two sterilization times, one for the 10 L vessel and one for the 104 L vessel). Note that you will have to use the “Solver” procedure within Excel.
I will be providing problem(10.10)
But the problem (10.19b) will need to get it from this book (Textbook: Bioprocess EngineeringBasic Concepts (3rd edition) by Shuler and Kargi (Prentice-Hall)

- Solve problem 10.10 by hand. You will see you need to calculate two different sterilization times (for two different size vessels)
You will use the “graphical method” to get the two times. The graph is labeled Fig 10.15 in the hand-out from class “Sterilization basics”
2.Write an Excel program to do the same thing (calculate the two sterilization times only – not the vitamin degradation).
