For the third part of the project you have several tasks:
Use the research or publications info on your chosen professor’s page to find/chose one research article
- note: depending on what papers are available in full-text, you may end up having to choose a different article
- They may have a link to some of their articles or pdfs on their pages- or you may have to use our Library database resources or Google Scholar to find a readable full-text version of the article you are interested in
- Library > Databases (find articles) > Academic Search Complete (EBSCO)
- make sure you select Full Text and Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals
- Put your author’s last name in one search box and select the field AU(THOR)
- If there are co-authors include their names too because that helps narrow it down
- Read the abstract and the first two pages of the Introduction section
- Make a list of the scientific terms you don’t know, and write definitions for them
- Make a list of the English vocabulary terms you don’t know or feel less comfortable with
- Write a brief summary of the main findings of their research and why this is new/important (use the abstract and intro for this)
- Write (or copy-paste) a citation for the article in APA format
