-Go to blueletterbible.org; open the website, you’ll find example on page 2 as attached. – Type “Save” into the bible search window. – Use The New America Standard bible – NASB (no other bible is allowed) and click search.
– You will find a long list of result and several pages long. – Copy these occurrences so that you can export them from blueletterbible into a more manageable format for submission. – Go to copy option above at the left hand corner of the page.- Copy options (blueletterbible)
1. Line by line: Select reference verse,
2. Paragraph Order: No selection.
3. Other Options: No selection.
4. Reference Delimiters: No selection. 5. Numbers Delimiters: No selection.
– Create Excel document: Open Excel document once you selected all these options.
– You will see a drop down icon at the left hand corner; select that and click “paste special” and a page will pop up.
-Select delimited and import the first roll and click “next”.
-Select other and dash and next, – Create the initial domain key . i.e., identify potential meaning of the word “SAVE”. – Brainstorm on what does the word “Save” mean and make a list, for example, a, b, c, etc. Please see attachments for guidance. Questions to ask: 1. Have I use the word in my definition? 2. Does my definition contain other words that may have an ambiguous meaning – make it simple. 3. Does my definition effectively communicate the meaning of the word in its simplest form? E.g. (a) to believe something is true (b). to believe something is real. Note: use Excel spreadsheet (a table form) and create a domain key, that is, clolumn a: to assent to the object as true. b. to assent to the object ability, capability or strength. c. General assent. There’re no wrong answers.
There are 4 parts of this assignment:
1. Find all the occurrences and identify the words that are translated into the word “save”.
2. Identify potential meaning of that word.
3. Assign a domain to each of those occurrences and write a summary usage paper and consult outside resources and update domain key to reflect your findings.
