Part 1. Write a narrative essay (minimum of 1000 words) which addresses the questions and statements below. A minimum of three scholarly sources are required, and all sources should be cited and referenced in APA format.

  • Discuss some of the reasons that some couples prefer to have children, while some prefer not to have children.
  • Discuss some of the stresses of raising children. What are some of the satisfactions of raising children?
  • Discuss the effects of divorce on spouses and their children.
  • How can parents cope with a divorce and help their child adjust successfully?

    Part 2

  • The initial discussion question must consist of at least 250 words and include at least two scholarly sources to support your opinion.
  • The great bulk (more than 90 percent) of Americans will marry, and about 40 percent of all marriages are remarriages. Existing statistics demonstrate the enormous popularity of the institution of marriage. Consider why so many people who have been divorced—who presumably might conclude, “I’ve tried it once and it didn’t work, so why do it again”—decide to remarry.
