INTR 202 Coursework: Module 4

This document acts as instructions for your required work for each Module of our course. Instructions, lectures, and discussion topics will be posted on the first day of each Module.

Module one requirements

1) Read all documents included in this Module’s upload, including the course introduction, syllabus, and writing guide.

2) Complete this week’s reading assignment: Read the chapter about Italian and Spanish Baroque design in the textbook A History of Interior Design.

3) View and listen to the PowerPoint presentation for this week. Be sure to take careful notes on slides in lecture wherein the text appears in RED.

4) Read this Module’s Study Guide, utilizing the Study Guide PowerPoint for this Module.

5) Complete and submit your Module four essay. (Deadline: 3/15/2021, 11:59PM)

Minimum length: 500 words.

Essay prompt: This essay prompt asks students to consider New St. Peter’s Basilica, The Church of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, and the Italian Baroque Cabinet as emblems of Italian Baroque design. Describe at least four visual elements among these three works of art that, in your view, meet with the dominant visual themes of the Italian Baroque period. Students are permitted to use any combination of elements from these three works of art in their analysis.

Point value: 7.5 points

6) Complete the quiz for Module four. The quiz will be posted on Canvas by Friday morning on 3/12/2021 and must be completed by11:59PM on Monday, 3/15/2021. To complete the quiz on time, it must be started by no later than 11PM on 3/15.

The quiz will be based entirely on information found in the audio clip on slides wherein the text appears in RED and information found in this Module’s study guide and its adjoining Study Guide PowerPoint.
