From the first day of class students are expected to keep their eyes and ears
open for fairy tale perceptions outside of the classroom. Make note in journal form (with dates) of
references or allusions to fairy tales you encounter in everyday life. This may be something you hear or see
in passing, something you are confronted with, something you are pondering, or it might be something you
think of, remember, or dream. Look for fairy tales in the world around and inside of you. Make note of this
in your journal. You are to hand in an edited version of
this, either keeping with the journal form or making a summary or text of your fairy-tale
awareness/perceptions/ experience. This should be no longer than 3-5 double spaced pages (1,000-1,750
words)
For this journal you can make it like the date on the left and a paragraph on the right of the date with all the observation. Example would be date: ……………… or you could just make it one big summary of all the observations. The observations you can make it up, it just has to relate to fairy tales. The dates could be any dates from the range of feb 2, 2021 through may 15, 2021.
