Choosing a specific example of popular culture (for this essay we need to analyze the sound Changes by Tupac) and analyze the cultural themes that it contains. Some topics that might be relevant: social roles, expressions of gender, racial or ethnic inequalities, ideas about patriotism or civic responsibility, conflict/cooperation between different social groups, the meaning of love, and so on.
After you have analyzed the culture themes then go on to explain which of the sociological theories that Grazian presents (functionalist, critical, interactionist) do you find most helpful in understanding this piece of popular culture from David Grazian, Mix It Up: Popular Culture, Mass Media, and Society, 2nd ed.
