– Students are required to write a paper on one major theological topic from a theologian of their

choice. This paper will be a detailed analysis of a major piece of writing in theological anthropology.

– Students may select from material from the whole breadth of the Christian theological tradition and

are invited to explore their own interests and ideas in theological anthropology.

– Students must analyze and summarize the view of a theologian on one specific theological topic, i.e.,

image of God, original sin, sin, the body, human action, social ethics, etc.

– Students may use material from primary texts or find additional texts from the Christian tradition on a particular topic.

– This paper will be five to seven pages in length, double-spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font. I will

grade paper for their ability to express and engage in a careful reading and analysis of a particular theological topic.

– Students should learn to quote the author and articulate the author’s argument as clearly and accurately as possible. All papers must use proper bibliographical form in either footnotes or endnotes. Papers will be graded according to originality of thought, depth of content/critical thinking, grammar, and style. Students are encouraged to go to the Writing Center to review their papers.
