Your interview should include the following questions, but you can feel free to also ask your interviewee additional questions of your own.
- How long have you belonged to this religious tradition, and how has it affected your life?
- What do you think is the most important aspect(s) of your religion?
- What do you think is the most unique aspect of your religion?
- What do you want others to know about your religion?
- What are some of your religious traditions or rituals? Which of them means the most to you?
- How does observing or performing these traditions or rituals affect your daily life?
- What are some of the symbols of your religion and what do they symbolize?
Step 2: Writing the Paper:
- Summarize the interviewee’s responses to your questions (approximately 2 pages).
- Reflect on the experience of talking about their religion with them (approximately 1-1.5 pages).
- How did the interview change your perception of that religion and/or that person?
- How did your interview relate to, intersect with, or differ from what we discussed about that particular religion in class?
