Discussion Question Below:

Assume that you are the HR director of Bethel University.  List the federally mandated benefits that you must provide for your employees with a brief description of each benefit.  What discretionary benefits would you recommend the University offers to its employees?  What discretionary benefits would you not offer?  Explain your rationale.

There are three parts to the first bullet.

For the first part, you are required to identify and briefly describe the legally required (mandated) benefits that employers must provide. These are described on pages 394-401, which is attached and named legally required mandated benefits.

For the second part, you are required to explain which discretionary (voluntary) benefits you think Bethel University should provide. Which is attached and named discretionary (voluntary) benefits.

For the third part, you are required to explain which discretionary benefits you think Bethel University should not provide.

For the second and third parts, you need to explain why Bethel University should provide the discretionary benefits you recommend and why it does not have to provide the discretionary benefits that you suggest it should not provide.

The discretionary benefits are explained on the attached document.
