Assignment #4: Brochure or Power Point (25 points)
Description: Teachers need to participate in professional development activities to become informed of
emerging AT devices and gain an understanding of the funding and availability of such resources.
Directions: Create a brochure or Power Point that can be shared with administrators and educators, and
parents, about the importance of AT devices. The brochure should be prepared using Microsoft
Publisher or a similar software program.
Your brochure should include the following sections:
· Explain the purpose of the brochure or Power Point
· Explain how teachers can engage in professional development activities to help with acquiring
knowledge about AT devices for improving their teaching practices
o Describe at least two educational resources (e.g., Internet and professional journals) that are available
as research tools for developing awareness of AT devices
o List a range of AT devices that may be used for instructional purposes to include a range of low-tech
and high-tech tools
· Explain the importance of AT funding and availability of resources for instructional purposes
o Describe at least two local, state, and national funding resources for the acquisition of AT devices
o Discuss the implications that funding availability of AT devices has on classroom practice
