- Visit the job search sites listed. Find a job posting that might interest you in the future. (Attached)
Write a cover letter to go with the job posting that you found. Follow the outline for a cover letter described in the resource “Quick Start: Marketing Your Qualifications Through Resumes and Cover Letters.” Follow the instructions below for your cover letter:
- Your opening paragraph should state the following:
- The position you are interested in and how you learned about the position
- Why you are interested in the organization and the position based on your research and knowledge
- A transition statement to your qualifications for the position
- Your second and third paragraphs should state how you are qualified for the position, and the types of problem-solving skills you bring to the employer. Quantify when possible.
- Your closing paragraph should indicate your enthusiasm for the position and interest in connecting further.
Your cover letter should be no more than 1 page, 12-point font, Times New Roman.
