Background is disproportionally long but did not mention any BC-specific issues regarding Indigenous health inequalities. It seems that you do not understand the requirements for this assignment and what the 3Is framework is. What are the ideas, institutions (structures, rules, regulations), and interests you have identified? and How do these ideas, institutions, and interests contribute to the challenge? Title – 0.5/0.5 Background – 2.5/5 Analysis (3Is)- 0/4 Analysis (CHA) – 3/3 Writing quality – 1/1.5 Referencing – 0.75/1
Assignment 2 will build on the research you did in Assignment 1. Having described and analyzed a problem in Assignment 1 you will now explore and evaluate potential solutions.
Your assignment must accomplish the following:
- Consider options to address the problem:
- Using the Control Knobs framework consider the full range of possible policy approaches. You must discuss all five control knobs.
- Identify three examples of relevant policy approaches have already been tried (in Canada or internationally):
- Describe the approaches taken and how they might be adopted to solve the problem you’ve identified
- Describe and evaluate any evidence of the likely effect of these approach
- Recommendations for a path forward, based on the discussion above evidence, including:
- Your argument for one or more possible approaches
- An explanation of how the 3-Is may help inform the approach
If you have chosen to change topics between assignment 1 and assignment 2, we also ask that you provide a brief (no more than 1-2 paragraphs) summary of the problem, relevant background, application of the 3-I framework, and connections between the problem and the Canada Health Act, such as you would’ve supplied in assignment 1. This summary will not be graded but will useful context for the TMs when they are marking.
You must also include a title page with a title and word count.
You should include in-text citations and a reference list using the Vancouver style. We recommend you identify and review between 7 and 12 high-quality citations to support your background and analysis.
The structure and organization of your assignment is up to you, but we strongly suggest using headings and subheadings to guide the reader. These may correspond to the bullet points above but should be adapted to fit your topic. Your analysis of policy options (Assignment 2) should be no more than 1,500 words. We recommend you allocate roughly a third of this length to each of the three main bullet points above.
Please upload your assignment on Canvas by 11:59 on the due date. Please append this to Assignment 1 for a total word count of no more than 3,000 words in the version you submit to Canvas.
