Week 2 Discussion 2: Peer Feedback: Communication Portfolio

For this week, imaging you just accepted executive employment as the Public Relations Manager with Anthony’s Orchard, a fictitious large produce supplier in the US. Imagine that it is your first day; you meet with the executive team and soon learn that all employees are encouraged to post an introductory video message. The organization uses Workplace by Facebook. It functions very similarly to Facebook, but it caters to a corporate audience.

You go back to your desk to login to the site to see what others have done. You are immediately drawn to the video messages. In this scenario, the week 1 video introductions or voice threads serve as the video introductions for Anthony’s Orchard employees. In your role as a new executive responsible for public relations, you find yourself mentally evaluating your colleagues’ introductions so you make some notes of what you think are strengths and weaknesses of the presentations, hoping you can learn from these as you consider creating your own.

Review at least two of your peers’ video introductions or voice threads and provide feedback using the scenario presented.

Respond to at least two of your peers’ posts providing them with through and thoughtful feedback. Be sure to address the following elements within your feedback:

  • Identify at least two perceptions you made when reviewing the introduction and explain the source of those perceptions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the given introduction in a professional context and provide the co-worker with at least one item of constructive feedback on how to improve the introduction.

Your peer feedback needs to be 4 or 6 paragraphs in length EACH, as a general expectation/estimate.
