Prepare: As you prepare to write your first discussion for this course, take a few moments to
- Read over the numerous quizzes you’ve taken, starting with the Grammar Assessment.
- Review the feedback you received from your instructor.
- Review the Grading Rubric for this discussion.
- Review section 9.4 of Essentials of College Writing.
Reflect:
- Take time to reflect on what errors continually recur in your instructor feedback and quiz results.
Write: Create a list of your five most frequent errors.
- Add your list of five errors to the “Editing Checklist” handout.
- Next, choose two proofreading strategies from section 9.4 of Essentials of College Writing and use those strategies to edit your essay.
- For your initial post
- Attach a copy of your editing checklist.
- Describe the two proofreading strategies that you used.
- Explain which strategy you prefer and why.
- Explain what the benefits and drawbacks are for each strategy.
