As a student with a Masters degree in Information Technology, I am planning on pursuing a career in IT operations. I have been in management the majority of my working career and it is time for a change. I have owned several businesses and had upper management positions working for one of the Top 5 corporations worldwide. I have always had the love for computers and the methodologies of problem solving. A masters degree in Information Technology will give me the chance to focus on a particular IT field so if I put a premium on increasing my knowledge about the field then a master’s degree will definitely give me that intellectual stimulation I need. With a Masters degree come respect from my current colleagues. Also as an IT manager for a company, I would be responsible for making sure that all hardware and software are up to date as well as cyber security concerns. The pay is not that bad as well. The average IT manager makes about $124,000 per year, which make this field a great one to be in. Only the future knows how this Masters degree will benefit me in the long run, but I can only hope for the best.
