This assignment has two interrelated parts. Both are aimed at building your leadership toolbox. The first part asks you to create your own personal ethics statement. The second part asks reflective questions about this course.
Part 1: Personal Ethics Statement
A personal ethics statement expresses your core values and offers a sense of what it’s like to do business with you. Developing this statement will help advance your leadership skills. Your statement needs to be brief – one page double-spaced, Times, 12-point font Word paper. -It needs to outline the values you practice. Here are suggested parts for your statement:
- Clear introduction
- Statement body (e.g., your beliefs, practices, values, and practices).
- Summarizing conclusion
Here is a link to a statement (Links to an external site.) that might be of use
Part 2: Reflections
Consider these questions to write about your lessons of the course:
- How has the course added to your ethical autobiography? (My ethical autobiography is attached) How might it be revised to better support your individual needs and interests?
- Are there changes in your practice and thinking that were sparked by the course’s materials, discussions and/or assignments? Please explain and share some examples.
- What new insights do you now have about your organization?
- How can leaders better actualize the organization’s ethical values to staff and other stakeholders?
- What does your organization stand for? Do you agree? If not, what do you think it needs to stand for?
- What other lessons need to be included that were not prompted by the above prompts?
