This week’s Reading will center on interventions and procedures utilized by ABA practitioners to teach new independent living skills and behavioral responses. The content centers on principles involved in shaping and chaining procedures. Focus will also be on behavior change through Functional Communication Training.

Read the following chapters in your Applied Behavior Analysis text:

  • Chapter 19: “Shaping” (pp. 420–426)
  • Chapter 20: “Chaining” (pp. 434–447)
  • Chapter 23: “Antecedent Interventions” (pp. 494–496)
