1. Discuss the compatibility of ambition and honor as it relates to Brutus, Cassius and Caesar. (Are ambition and honor compatible? Why, or why not? Use examples of Brutus, Cassius, and/or Caesar to explain your opinion.)
2. Discuss parallels between the play and the historical examples you researched. (Do research, and learn about some historical events that are like things that happen in the play, Julius Caesar. How are they “parallel,” or similar?)
3. Write a paragraph in which you compare and contrast the motivations of Brutus and Cassius, and determine whether the ends justify the means. (“The ends justify the means” is simply saying that the good results, or “ends,” make it acceptable, or “justified,” to do drastic or violent things, or the “means.” So, think about what Brutus and Cassius have done. Did the ends justify the means, in your opinion?)
