Directions: Please make sure you understand the PIE structure, restated below.
Then look at my example of a PIE paragraph that analyzes the Jaws: The Revenge
movie poster. Then write your own for the movie poster you will be analyzing for
paper #1 (The Goonies, Parasite, or something else of your choosing). Choose just
one element from that poster to examine for that paragraph—written text, image,
or color—and stick to that element for the whole PIE paragraph, just as I did in my
sample (I focused on imagery).
Directions: For this assignment, I want you to annotate the movie poster on which you will be
writing your first paper (see paper #1 prompt for your options). You can revisit our class lesson
from this week to see some questions that you may want to answer in your annotation. You need
to fill out one full page for your annotation. You can write in complete sentences or bullet points.
You can type your notes or handwrite them and submit a screenshot for credit. I’ll provide an
example of my own annotation on the Jaws: The Revenge poster so that you can see what I am
looking for.
