Identification and description of the culture I will research on : is the Egyptian Culture
The culture I have selected for this signature assignment is the ancient Egyptian civilization. According to Fletcher (2016), ancient Egypt was a civilization living along the river Nile in northeastern Africa. The Egyptian civilization started around 3150 BC under the leadership of the first Pharaoh called Menes. Greenberg and Greenberg (2016) point out that it is one of the longest human civilizations known to have contributed to many modern technologies and scientific knowledge. The history of ancient Egyptian civilization lasted for approximately 5500 years, and this existence is divided by historians into three main periods: the old, middle, and new kingdoms.
The research goals in the identified culture
The Egyptian civilization must have had excellent administrative, religious, and social structures to last for many years. Therefore, my goal is to find out the sociopolitical structure of the ancient Egyptians and the religious and educational practices that set them apart from other cultures. I will also focus on their agricultural practices, medical practices, education system, and infrastructure. The Egyptian civilization is well known for the mummification of its prominent personalities. I intend to find out the process and significance of this practice in this ancient culture.
