Welcome to the People Analytics department! In this Skill Builder, you will analyze data about the employees who left your company. In particular, you will be focused on exploring features related to the concept of attrition.
Attrition, also known as “regrettable loss”, is when an employee leaves a company earlier than expected. Companies spend a lot of money hiring and training employees, so minimizing the number of employees that are considered a “loss” to the company is often an important business goal.
There are lots of features in the dataset, and we’ll only be working with a handful in the workbook. If you’re interested in learning more about the dataset, you can read more about it from the data’s homepage (Links to an external site.) and this discussion thread (Links to an external site.) on Kaggle.
Skill Builder downloads:

When you are done, upload the Excel file containing your answers to this page.
Note that solutions without formulas will receive no credit. (This won’t be applicable to every question. For instance, questions answered by sorting don’t have formulas.)
NOTE: You will be able to immediately download the answer key following submission. Look for it by scrolling down to the bottom of the course. Because you will be provided with the answers, resubmissions are generally not accepted or graded.
