American University Battery Kemble Park Reflection

I’m working on a Environmental Science exercise and need support.

1) We will go as a group to the Battery Kemble Park ( gov/places/battery-kemble.htm” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>https://www.nps.gov/places/battery-kemble.htm (Links to an external site.) ) for a hike. Put away your phone or other device, and allow for your senses to take in your surroundings. What do you see, hear, smell, feel? Write one paragraph containing your observations and reflections.

2) We will watch the short film Venture Out in class. https://youtu.be/UpShZ7U3bn0

3) Write a second paragraph reflecting about how people’s identity and life experiences can either help them connect with nature, or prevent them from doing so. What are the benefits of experiencing nature, either through something like a backpacking trip or just by spending time outside? Are there risks or difficulties associated with it? Do you feel that your identity has influenced how you feel about the natural world?
