Compose a response to the following question. Remember to focus on your analysis of the one reading you are choosing to respond to. Your focus should have a main idea (thesis) to control your analysis, and you need to consistently include cited passages from the reading to help validate what you are asserting. While you do need the cited passages, you do not need to include “Works Cited.” Be sure to identify the piece, and author (if there is one), in your introductory paragraph so it’s clear what exactly you’re focusing on throughout your essay.
Remember, your essay response should be about 750 words or more.
Prompt: What is the fault and/or advance in American thinking being exposed here? In answering the question, consider both the negative and positive aspects of what happened or was initiated. While some parties (or people) may be of one mind (this is a good thing), others may think differently (this is not a good thing). Consider all viewpoints in your analysis and how such thinking may still exist today.
