II. Narrative:
Write the purpose and rationale for why is it important for a program to have a policy and procedure for staff and families regarding the support of children with special needs (Minimum 200 words)?
III. Project:
- Policy
- Include local regulations pertaining to the service of children with special needs.
- Include any relevant ADA requirements your program must comply with.
- Procedures
- Include steps for identification and notification to program leaders and family, assessment, action plans, how changes to programming will be communicated to classroom staff, program stakeholders, and families.
- Develop a resource portfolio of local agencies that provide services for families of children with special needs.
- Develop a resource portfolio to support program staff to support their classroom and assisting in adapting and creating an inclusive curriculum for children of all abilities (books, videos, agencies, training opportunities, etc).
