Develop a series of parent
workshops on topics that have been identified and requested by parents.
This assignment will be done in the format that meets guidelines for the CPAC
Portfolio. The assignment will demonstrate your competency in the
area Programming for the Whole Family and meets the
objective: Develop family workshops on topics identified by
families. Format to follow:

Statement
of Competency: Develop
family workshops on topics identified by families.
II.
Narrative: This section should explain how this
project addresses an unmet need or area that needs improvement in your
program. Explain how you assessed parent interest in particular issues.
Describe in some detail what observations you made that have led you to choose
specific topics and this mode of delivering information and increasing family
engagement. You may reference the data collected in your Family
Questionnaires.
III.
Submission
of Project
a.
Determine FOUR workshops that
will be presented to families. Provide the following information for each
workshop.
i. Title
ii. One or two focusing points that will be highlighted in the workshop
iii. Who will lead the workshop and why this person was chosen
iv. List of additional staff who will be involved (if applicable)
v. Resources will be used in sessions or provided to the families (include one of each
1. Title and author of a book
2. URL or attachment of a web site or article
b.
Create a budget for the
workshop series. Consider the following:Create a flyer, letter, or
other communication method used to inform the families of the workshop and all
necessary details. List topics and add anything else which will entice
families to attend.

Presenter (if applicable)

Space (if applicable)
iii.
Refreshments
iv.
Staff time (i.e. will staff be part of the presentation or provide
child care during sessions?)
v.
Resources (see a(v) above)
vi.
Are funds available for this series or will you need to find a way
to fund?
b.

Discuss how you will measure
outcome and determine the need for further support of families as the series
progresses as well as at the end of the series.
