Methodology -Marketing Plan
Godae Technologies concentrates its business activities on the exportation of medical devices into the U.S. and at the same time importation of chocolates from Chocolate International. Following are the different market activities associated with market transactions.
Godae Technologies plans to export four different types of medical devices into the U.S. In the first year, it is aimed to distribute 50,000 units, while at the same time importing 50,000 unit’s chocolates from Chocolate International. Korea is surrounded by sea hence; it is very easy for the importers to import products from other countries. Godae Technologies brings its products to the Port of Incheon, Korea where Chocolate International will take over and take care
of the distribution and allocation of the products within the U.S. It is also vital that Godae Technologies takes packaging and labeling requirements from Chocolate International. Into consideration before handing over the products. (cia.gov – World Factbook).
Our marketing strategy is to focus on providing assistance with a master kit that includes:
- ? Product promotions to ensure successful advertising campaign on the US market.
- ? Create communication channel that becomes a part of the sales contract between the twobusiness partners
Following are the briefly introduced and involved activities of two contracting partners:Distribution ModeGodae Technologies does not play a major role in the distribution activities of its products on the U.S. market, as Chocolate International is responsible for distributing and selling the imported products to end-consumers. At the same time, Chocolate International does not play a major role in the distribution activities of its products on the Korean market, as Godae Technologies is responsible for distributing and selling their products to the end-consumers in North Korea.Sales Force (Export and Import)Both Godae Technologies and Chocolate International will use margins and markups to ensure profitable business transactions, as their sales forces are solely focusing on selling the respectively imported goods on the domestic market.Dealers/AgentsAs both business partners will take care of the distribution of the imported goods by themselves, no additional sales dealers or agents will be required.
Facilitators
Godae Technologies and Chocolate International traders will handle the distribution of the goods on the domestic markets independently so that no further facilitators will be needed. Marketing Mix – Segmentation and target market
Export Transactions
For medical equipment, we will divide our market into three segments on the basis of size and control.
- Government sponsored hospital
- Diagnostic centers
- Private clinics and hospitals
Initial targets consist of Diagnostic centers, private clinics, and hospitals, as there is a high probability for profits within this market segment in the coming years. It is also easy to provide service to this sector; the customization will be low. Due to the high margins in the healthcare sector, there is an expectation of more hospitals opening in different parts of the USA in the future. (Smith, 1999)
Import Transactions
There are many ways to segment the market to sell the chocolates which includes age, income brackets, gender, and occupation. Initially we will focus on children aged 5-15 years. Around 13.45% of the total population of the South Korea is of 0 to 14 years. (cia.gov – World Factbook) Selling chocolates at special occasions to children/teens may prove simple. Since the prices of the chocolates are low as compared to other commodities, parents will be less inclined to stop children from consumption. The chocolates will be available in different flavor depending on the taste and texture. Additionally, research shows that getting younger buyers can breed brand loyalty.
