An important fact that needs to be made public, ESPECIALLY to parents, is that children do not have a fully developed brain until they are twenty four or twenty five years old (Tamnes et al., 2011). POLICY- wants a young person to believe that they are an adult at eighteen; but they are not. As a consequence of that policy, there are young people making adult decisions with half a brain. There are many mistakes that young people make between the ages of eighteen through twenty-four because they believe that they are”grown”; then they spend a life time trying to recover from that mistake they made when they were young.
Now talk about a topic no one likes to bring up… school shootings. FedEx shootings. Ft. Hood Shootings. Etc. What is the age range of many of the shooters?
