Each group (maximum 6 students) prepares a case on the corporate restructuring. You will prepare a powerpoint slides (around 3-5 pages) to summarize the case and you will be invited to present the case in class (May 4 or 6).

1. You will find a real life example of corporate restructuring (e.g. mergers, proxy contests, takeovers, leveraged buyout and etc.).

2. In the slides, provide summary of

a) background information of the case (e.g. information on the companies, what are the issues before the restructuring, the main events and etc.)

b) motivation of the corporate restructuring

c) benefits and costs of the corporate restructuring

d) any other implications (e.g. the firm value, future development of the firm, investors’ reactions, regulation)

Please provide citation if you cite others’ work.

3. In the last slide, clearly state the names of students contributing to the activity and the role played by each student.

4. Upload the power point to this folder by May 3, 11:59 PM. Only one copy is needed for each group.

5. In May 4 and 6 classes, I may randomly call some or all groups to present the work. If you are not in class to present, you lose half (50%) of your grade.
