The following should be included in the report:
- Introduction and Overview including:
- Brief description of the product or service
- Discussion of major issues, anticipated problems, and opportunities facing your firm.
- Identify your target market and your competition.
- Describe whether your operation is labor or capital intense.
- Identify non-financial constraints.
- Financial and Cost Analysis:
- Identification of activity drivers.
- Discuss the product in terms of variable costs, fixed costs, mixed costs and also break these costs down into labor, materials and overhead.
- Discuss how a master budget, which includes a cash budget and projected financial statements would be prepared.
- Using the CVP formula, make different assumptions about costs and selling prices.
- Identify opportunity costs and other options such as make or buy decisions take should be considered by your company.
- Conclusions and Recommendations:
- Conclusions
- Recommendations
- Short-term and long-term implications of your proposals
- Issues requiring further study and considerations
- Written Paper:
- Minimum 5 page report. (Font size of no more than “12”, margins of 1″ on each side, spell checked).
- PowerPoint Presentation – minimum of 10 slides to be used during the oral class presentation.
