The following should be included in the report:

 

  1. Introduction and Overview including:

 

    1. Brief description of the product or service
    2. Discussion of major issues, anticipated problems, and opportunities facing your firm.
    3. Identify your target market and your competition.
    4. Describe whether your operation is labor or capital intense.
    5. Identify non-financial constraints.

 

  1. Financial and Cost Analysis:

 

    1. Identification of activity drivers.
    2. Discuss the product in terms of variable costs, fixed costs, mixed costs and also break these costs down into labor, materials and overhead.
    3. Discuss how a master budget, which includes a cash budget and projected financial statements would be prepared.
    4. Using the CVP formula, make different assumptions about costs and selling prices.
    5. Identify opportunity costs and other options such as make or buy decisions take should be considered by your company.

    3. Short-term and long-term implications of your proposals
    4. Issues requiring further study and considerations

 

  1. Written Paper:

 

    1. Minimum 5 page report. (Font size of no more than “12”, margins of 1″ on each side, spell checked).
    2. PowerPoint Presentation – minimum of 10 slides to be used during the oral class presentation.
