Hello, Please find the discussions belowDiscussion 1: Communication is an important aspect in society as well as in an organization. It may be described using approaches like mass media and personal contact. The personal contact approach is also known as online communication and is defined as the communication between two or more people that is not verbal. It does not necessarily require physical touch or oral communication. The mass media approach on the other hand is the communication approach targeted to reach a huge number of people in a short period. It relates to various forms of media since technologies are used in the dissemination of information (Avc?, Kadriye, et al, 2015).There are differences between the personal contact model of communication and mass media communication. In the personal contact model of communicating on the web, media such as emails are utilized. The marketing team in a firm normally searches, qualifies, and reaches out to all potential customers through this medium. Consequently, in the mass media approach, communication is carried out through media like radio, television, websites, and advertising. Another difference is that personal communication is between two people at a time but the mass media approach is for a large group of people at a time. Personal communication is also a one-to-one communication where both the seller and the buyers are active in the information exchange. Mass media, on the other hand, the seller is active in the sharing of information but the buyer is passive. Additionally, in personal communication, a company can get feedback directly from their customers but in the mass media approach, it is challenging to acquire feedback from their potential customers (Sengupta, s.2011).ReferencesSENGUPTA, S. (2011). Business and managerial communication. PHI Learning Pvt.Avc?, Kadriye, et al. “Examination of the mass media process and personal factors affecting the assessment of mass media-disseminated health information.” Global health promotion 22.2 (2015): 20-30.Avc?, K., Çak?r, T., Av?ar, Z., & Üzel Ta?, H. (2015). Examination of the mass media process and personal factors affecting the assessment of mass media-disseminated health information. Global health promotion, 22(2), 20-30.Disucssion 2: Mass Media approach is about one-to-many while personal contact approach on the Web is one-to-one virtually. In mass media approach, seller is active while the buyer is passive in info exchange. However, in personal contact approach, both seller and buyer are active and they could interact in a timely manner. In mass communication, the receivers are unknown to each other, while in the personal contact mode, the sender and the receiver know whom they’re talking with. Sometimes, if one or two among the large audience fail to understand or cope up with the message, the communication will stay uninterrupted during mass communication on the Web. However, the personal contact mode requires both the sender and receiver to understand the message. Many mass media channels, including newspaper, journals, radio, TV and the internet make information sharing more accessible. Also, it’s largely based on subject matter that users create and share. Mass communication could effectively help get the word out to a large number of audience. However, the personal contact model still could not be replaced since it’s easy to build trust and rapport with potential customers and quick to receive customized and individualized feedback.
