Historical interviews can be pretty impactful if you can find the right interviewee at the right time. For instance, right before my mom passed away, I was able to sit down with her for a number of hours and just take notes on our family’s history. Even though she was very ill, she lit up the room when she talked about her grandmother, grandfather, mother, father, sisters, brothers, and so on. Also, I just cherished the time I got to spend with her and still think back to those conversations now that she is gone.
