Provide a written analysis (essay), using critical thinking to describe an ethical problem you faced or witnessed first-hand. Think about how it was handled, what you thought about it at the time, and what you think about it now.
This assignment is a reminder about how routinely ethics comes up in our lives, so it would be best if the case didn’t involve journalism (though it shouldn’t be so personal that you are reluctant to share it in class). This essay is meant to help us brainstorm so we figure out how we developed a sense of right & wrong, duty, obligation and values. If you’re really stuck finding something you personally experienced, talk about a case you watched from afar.
