“Unfortunately, discrimination is a part of most societies even in the global age. As I’m sure you know, the US is no stranger to discrimination.
Officially, the Burakumin and the Dalit are not discriminated against or considered lower than others. But the news says otherwise here (please watch the very educational 4 minute video in this one) (Links to an external site.) and again here (Links to an external site.)(though the law firm article does not mention that both the employee AND the employer(s) were Dalits as that caused a diplomatic controversy between the US and India).
The Burakumin (Links to an external site.) are ethnically Japanese, but yet apart from the majority. The article explains why.
This discrimination around the globe (Links to an external site.) article is older (2001), but still highly relevant.”
