For your assignment, you will need to postulate a theory as to why the Beats strayed from the American transcendentalists. Obviously, because it is an opinion-based theory, you can rarely be wrong, unless you write something that is “constantly random.” Your theory needs to be grounded in the discussion material from this lesson, and you can also use the discussion material from lesson 6. Your essay needs to be typed, double spaced, and one page in length.
