2. CONDOM INSTRUCTIONS
- Get some instructions on how to use a condom:
- Go to the drugstore and buy a package of condoms; find the directions.
- OR go to the clinic and get a flyer explaining how to use condoms properly.
- OR go on the Internet and find a really good set of directions.
- If this is “been there, done that” for you, then get the instructions for a female condom (the kind that was originally designed to go inside a woman, instead of outside a man).
- Read the instructions carefully.
- Rewrite those instructions in your own words. Don’t just copy and paste.
- After you write your own words, have a friend compare the two so that you are sure that you’re not committing plagiarism.
- Beware (grin)!
- In my face-to-face classes, instructions have been read from every major brand of condoms, and many minor brands too. Instructions downloaded from several different Internet sites have also been read.
- I don’t know them by heart, but I recognize them pretty easily.
- After you write your own words, have a friend compare the two so that you are sure that you’re not committing plagiarism.
- Include the brand name of the condoms whose printed instructions you worked from, or a link to the Internet site where you got the original instructions from.
GRADING (20 points possible):
- Clarity of your instructions (how clear they are): 8 points
- Completeness: 8 points
- Mentioning which instructions or site you worked from: 4 points
(Don’t forget this! It is the most common reason for not getting full credit.)
