Public Choice applies the economic way of thinking to issues found in political science and the policy process. Specifically, Public Choice will examine the political process and political decision making using rational choice models, price theory, and game theory. In so doing this class will attempt to analyze the behavior of politicians, bureaucrats, voters, and special interest groups through the economic lens. This class will provide each student with the analytical tools necessary to think about how the political process shapes individual behavior in a systematic way.
